About Senior Dime & Dottie
Senior Dime was built on one simple idea: small savings add up to a big difference.
Our mascot, Dottie, is the thrifty, funny friend we all wish we had. She’s been clipping coupons since gas was 36 cents, she never pays full price if she can help it, and she has zero patience for scammers. Dottie is a cartoon character. The real work is done by the Senior Dime editorial team.
We write friendly, plain-English guides for Americans 60 and over on the things that touch your wallet every month: groceries, prescriptions, utility bills, phone plans, senior discounts and the benefit programs too many people miss.
Our promises to you
- Easy to read. Large text, short paragraphs, no jargon. Use the A+ buttons at the top to make it even bigger.
- Honest. We check our guides against official sources such as Medicare.gov, SSA.gov, IRS.gov and FCC.gov, and point you to free help whenever we can.
- Safe. We will never ask for your Medicare number, Social Security number or bank details.
- Independent. Senior Dime is not a government agency and is not affiliated with Medicare or Social Security.
How we make money
Senior Dime is free to read. We’re supported by advertising, and we may be paid when you call a licensed insurance agent through our benefits check. That never changes the facts in our guides.
Senior Dime is published by Local Growth Labs LLC in Las Vegas, Nevada. Have a tip that saved you money? Tell Dottie.
